Most parrots' major diet consists of seeds, nuts, fruits and parts of vegetation. Some parrot species eat insects and small animals as well. Parrots often use their beaks to climb by gripping or hooking on branches.

Sometimes parrots use their feet to hold the seed in place.

The pair bonds of parrots are strong. Even when they join larger flock the pair will always wait close, even during the non breeding season.
